Founded in 2006 by Ruslan Kogan, the online gadget store ‘Kogan’ has released its latest invention, a robotic vacuum cleaner. This smart vacuum operates completely autonomously and has three operation modes and intelligent space detection to ensure thorough cleaning.
The robotic vacuum has a rubber bumper to ensure it steers away from furniture, and sensors which keep it from falling down the stairs. It also comes with a remote control, so users can also control which areas it cleans if they choose not to use the automatic mode.
This entry level vacuum cleaner is currently available for $149, an affordable price compared to other robotic vacuum cleaners that are on the market such as the iRobot Roomba or the Neato. The vacuum is so intuitive it has a smart ‘self-charging’ feature built in, meaning it senses when it is low on battery and will return itself to the base station and charge itself before returning to clean the room.
With three operation modes suitable for different room sizes and intelligent space detection technology, it has been built to be a smart addition to any home. Ruslan told T3 earlier in the year that the vacuum was his favourite gadget in his home. “I switch it on, go to the office, come back and the house is clean!”
Priding himself on delivering quality electronic goods to the Australian consumer, the 32 year old multi-millionaire started his company online in his parents’ garage in 2006 and today is worth over $200 million.
The Kogan Robotic Vacuum is available for pre-order now at a price of $99 + Delivery. It is shipped in 1-2 days and as part of Kogans ‘risk free shopping’, is available for a 14 day money back guarantee. A twelve month warranty on the unit for service and repairs and phone and email support is currently available free of charge.
